Past Events
Colorado Greyhound Adoption attends many of the fairs and festivals held in the area.  We also hold several fundraisers and awareness opportunities throughout the year.  Here are just some of the past events, with pictures:

St. Patrick's Day Parade 2014

Getting their Green out!

Jasper Colorado Greyhound Adoption kicked off their 2014 event season with the Colorado Springs St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 15th.

For years, CGA has participated in the St. Patrick's Parade in the Springs. The crowd loves to see the Greys all dressed up in their St. Patty's finery.

"Thanks to everyone who turned out for the St. Patrick's Parade in the Springs!  I hope everyone still had a Greyt time."  Becky, CGA Event Coordinator

CGA Parade Volunteer Information

Don't forget to dress up your hounds and yourselves in St. Patrick's attire. Green balloons will be available to attach to the pups. In years past, volunteers have found parking a couple of blocks east of Tejon most convenient.

Because of the 5K on Tejon and Cache la Poudre, police officers will not let parade participants into the staging area before 11 am. Therefore, volunteers for CGA should meet at the staging #65 at Williamette and Tejon after 11 am but about 30 minutes prior to the start of the parade.

The parade kicks off at noon. This year, the participants in front and in back of our group are not loud noise makers to make things a little easier. The parade route is approximately 2 ½ miles long and typically lasts about 1 ½ hours.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner 2013

CGA Celebrates Volunteers with a Sweet 16 Party!
Event Picture
The Volunteer Appreciation Dinner highlighted the many hardworking volunteers of CGA. On November 16th, 2013, CGA celebrated its Sweet 16th year at the Arvada Center. With 78 members of CGA in attendance, the evening started off with a wonderful dinner, followed by several special moments.

Rori Mattson, President of CGA, presented a slideshow in memory Julie Muehling, a longtime CGA Volunteer, who passed away a few months ago from cancer. Then Rori spoke about the continuous efforts of our volunteers who have helped over 4,400 hounds find their forever homes. It takes a lot of people to run an organization this big, and CGA is constantly looking for new volunteers to help out, as some volunteers are performing several roles within the organization.

Annual CGA Picnic

Since September 2010, CGA has held their Annual Picnic at Highland Heritage Regional Park
The cost is a donation of $5/person or $15/family.  All greyhounds enter for free.

Each year, attendees have the opportunity to purchase the new CGA Calendar, the winning CGA T-shirt, and much more from our very own CGA Store. Greyhounds and humans participate in games such as bobbing for weenies, peanut butter eating, and the longest tail contest.

The picnic is often a place for foster parents to have a mini reunion with former fosters and their new family.

Extreme Bowling 2013

Greyhound Bowling event raises big bucks and fun for allalt

Once again AMF Belleview Bowl opened the doors to CGA and allowed us to have our greyhounds with us. A SPECIAL THANKS to Chris Timin and his staff for welcoming us back this year and hoping that we come back next year.

With a total of 99 bowlers (adults and kids), CGA brought in just over $3,300. The Bake Sale brought in $363 because once again the CGA family donated lots of TASTY TREATS for people and greys. Money donations totaled $109 to CGA at the event. The CGA store brought in $993 of purchased. WOW! What a way for Chris and Mike Benedict to end

CGA Golf Tournament 2013

Hits a hole in one for greyhounds!
Colorado Greyhound Adoption's 13th annual golf tournament was held on Saturday, July 6th, 2013. We teed off in the beautiful morning with 51 golfers there was not a cloud in the sky and it was nice and cool. We had 13 teams playing in the 13th year of the tournament.

The golf tournament is an event that CGA puts on every year that gets a lot of outside exposure. The tournament is filled up with mostly teams that are not members of CGA; therefore, we are able to reach out to another crowd of people and spread the word about these wonderful hounds.

We had some fosters that showed up and it is always great to see how excited people get when they meet a greyhound for the first time. The greyhounds that

Pictures with Santa

Earlier this month, Struttin Pup in Lafayette hosted Pet Pictures with Santa.  100% of the proceeds went to help the hounds!  Here are some of the pics that were taken...

Colorado Family Pet Expo

In March, the very first Colorado Family Pet Expo was held downtown at the Colorado Convention Center.  CGA had an information booth at that event, and our ambassadogs sure put on the charm.  (The pet food vendor next door fell victim to the "sad puppy dog eyes" and kept giving out free samples too!)
