Tommi Carter, the Million Dollar Dog

Tommi Carter

When they called me a Million Dollar Dog, I was super excited!   I felt so special!  Am I really one in a million?  Is that why everybody loves me?!  My foster mamas sure thinks I am an extra special girl!  I’m a million dollar dog!!  Woohoo!!

But then I realized that they were talking about my medical bills.  Those are the million dollars.  I have big bills.  I don’t like having big bills!

The veterinarian said stuff like “ulnar carpal bone” and “pancarpal arthrodesis”  and “over $5000.”

I know my front ankle looked weird and made me walk funny, but I didn’t realize that it would cost so much to make me better.  I thought I was ready to move on to a well deserved retirement, but now my booboo is causing me problems.  I had to have surgery and it will be a while before I can start looking for my forever home.  Everyone hated to see me in pain, and wanted to help make me better.  The surgery is expensive, then there is the rehab then lots of bandages and medications and stuff which is expensive too. My foster mama says that I am priceless and CGA will pay the big bills and make sure I get all better.

That’s a good thing, because I am a happy and energetic girl!  It’s just the bills that make me sad.

But maybe you could help?  I promise to be extra good, and when I get a forever family I promise I will never chew stuff up or potty in the house or chase the cat.  I’ll be a really good girl!  You can donate by going to the following link to the CGA Store.

Surgery went well and hopefully in a few months I will be all healed and  able to be adopted.  In the meantime, I am going to play with my new foster family and try to figure out how to walk on my splint and I’ll try not to chew on my pretty pink bandage.
Feel free to post this elsewhere.  Forward it to friends or post it on Facebook.   I personally don’t know why anyone would want a book of faces.  Butts are far more interesting, but apparently no one asked us dogs.  Surely Buttbook would be a way better idea!

There are so many things to learn now that I am retired!  I can't wait until I am all better and can explore my new world!

Love,
Tommi Carter
