Past Events
Colorado Greyhound Adoption attends many of the fairs and festivals held in the area.  We also hold several fundraisers and awareness opportunities throughout the year.  Here are just some of the past events, with pictures:

CGA 2015 T-Shirt Winner

Since 2008 CGA has held a 'design a t-shirt' contest, which has become an exciting competition that coincides with its annual picnic.  Each year CGA volunteers submit designs that they'd like to see on a t-shirt; those submissions are then posted on CGA's website. Then everyone votes.

In addition to CGA volunteers this year, local high school students studying graphic design were asked to submit designs as a way to educate young people about greyhounds and CGA.  This year’s contest drew in more than 20 wonderful and varied submissions.
And now, the winners.

There are no losers, because all of this year's designs were wonderful!
Thank you to all who submitted designs and thanks to those of you who supported this group of artists with your votes.

The winning design will be featured on a t-shirt which will be sold at this year’s Annual Picnic on Sunday, September 27th.  Additionally, pre-sales will start Thursday, September 3rd, until Friday, September 11th, so you can pick up your t-shirt at the picnic.

By ordering and pre-paying for your t-shirt, you will be guaranteed to get your correct size.  You can also request to have your order mailed directly to you (applicable postage will apply).

We hope that this year's contest has inspired others to design a t-shirt to enter in next year's contest. And, remember, no matter who wins,  it's really the dogs who are the winners!

Annual CGA Picnic

Since September 2010, CGA has held their Annual Picnic at Highland Heritage Regional Park
The cost is a donation of $5/person or $15/family.  All greyhounds enter for free.

Each year, attendees have the opportunity to purchase the new CGA Calendar, the winning CGA T-shirt, and much more from our very own CGA Store. Greyhounds and humans participate in games such as bobbing for weenies, peanut butter eating, and the longest tail contest.

The picnic is often a place for foster parents to have a mini reunion with former fosters and their new family.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

Getting their Green out!

Jasper The new year is well under way and our first event is coming up soon. Colorado Greyhound Adoption will kick off their 2015 event season with the Colorado Springs St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 14th.

"I know we have quite a few new greys and their families that have joined the CGA family in the past few months. Please know that ALL are invited and welcome to join the fun events this year."  Becky, CGA Event Coordinator.

Visit our facebook and Upcoming Events pages for more information. It is a greyt way to spend time with your grey, other greys, and their folks. The people that come to these events LOVE the greys. Events are like a Meet and Greet on steroids.

For years, CGA has participated in the St. Patrick's Parade in the Springs. The crowd loves to see the Greys all dressed up in their St. Patty's finery.

CGA parade volunteers met at their staging spot about 30 minutes prior to the start of the parade.  The parade route is approximately 2 ½ miles long and typically lasts about 1 ½ hours.

Please put this and other upcoming event dates on your calendar and help where you can. It would be greyt if everyone, adopters and fosters, would commit to a couple of events for a few hours. Depending on the event schedule, shifts are 2 to 3 hours. Reminder that all fosters must be vetted before attending events.

Extreme Bowling 2013

Greyhound Bowling event raises big bucks and fun for allalt

Once again AMF Belleview Bowl opened the doors to CGA and allowed us to have our greyhounds with us. A SPECIAL THANKS to Chris Timin and his staff for welcoming us back this year and hoping that we come back next year.

With a total of 99 bowlers (adults and kids), CGA brought in just over $3,300. The Bake Sale brought in $363 because once again the CGA family donated lots of TASTY TREATS for people and greys. Money donations totaled $109 to CGA at the event. The CGA store brought in $993 of purchased. WOW! What a way for Chris and Mike Benedict to end

CGA Golf Tournament 2013

Hits a hole in one for greyhounds!
Colorado Greyhound Adoption's 13th annual golf tournament was held on Saturday, July 6th, 2013. We teed off in the beautiful morning with 51 golfers there was not a cloud in the sky and it was nice and cool. We had 13 teams playing in the 13th year of the tournament.

The golf tournament is an event that CGA puts on every year that gets a lot of outside exposure. The tournament is filled up with mostly teams that are not members of CGA; therefore, we are able to reach out to another crowd of people and spread the word about these wonderful hounds.

We had some fosters that showed up and it is always great to see how excited people get when they meet a greyhound for the first time. The greyhounds that

Cookies on their Way

Cookie plates are in route to our GREYT vets.

In early December, Colorado Greyhound Adoption volunteers bake yummy cookies and treats.  Then they gather together to assemble all the cookies and treats on plates in holiday wrapping to be delivered to the veterinarians and their staff who donate their services.

Along with the yummy goodies, each office receives the new "In the Company of Greyhounds" calendar.  It is a great way to wrap up the year and say thanks.

Thanks to our bakers, platers, and wrappers for your help.  Also, a thank you to Chris and Mike Benedict for opening up their home for this years event.

Pictures with Santa

Earlier this month, Struttin Pup in Lafayette hosted Pet Pictures with Santa.  100% of the proceeds went to help the hounds!  Here are some of the pics that were taken...

Colorado Greyhound Adoption Fundraising and Volunteer Dinner

The fundraising and volunteer recognition dinner on Saturday, November 8th, 2014, is a great opportunity for the CGA community to come together to celebrate all we have done in the last year.

dinner theme

This year we have TWO speakers who will focus on therapies for our greys!

Dr. Andi Harper from Harper's Ridge will be talking about her chiropractic work and how it might benefit greyhounds.

CGA's own Jody Laughlin, who owns A Tranquil Paws Canine Massage will tell us about the benefits of Massage and other therapies.

In addition to appetizers and inner, the evening will be topped off with the traditional Live "Wild" Auction and annual video at the Arvada Center -- 6901 Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada.  Dinner costs $25.00 per person.

Sorry, time to RSVP for this event has expired; but check back around this time next year so that you can join us.  You don't have to be a volunteer to attend.

Colorado Family Pet Expo

In March, the very first Colorado Family Pet Expo was held downtown at the Colorado Convention Center.  CGA had an information booth at that event, and our ambassadogs sure put on the charm.  (The pet food vendor next door fell victim to the "sad puppy dog eyes" and kept giving out free samples too!)
