CGA is thrilled to participate in our 5th Festival of Lights Parade. Hounds dress in their holiday finest (preferably decked out with battery-powered lights) and parade through downtown Colorado Springs. Where: Tejon St, Colorado Springs
When: Saturday, December 4th -- The parade starts at 5:50.
You have two options for meeting up with the group:
1. Meet at the parking lot at 5 pm. We park at a lot on the Colorado College Campus where Tejon dead ends on Cache La Poudre. From I-25, take the Uintah Exit, turn east on Uintah, turn south (right) on Cascade, take your first left on Cache la Poudre, and the parking lot will be on your left. Everyone will bundle up and get their hounds in costume in the parking lot. At 5:15 we'll walk to the staging area.
2. Meet us at the staging area BEFORE 5:30. Our staging area is on the southside on Monument Street, between Cascase and Tejon. We are in the middle of the block. We've been asked to be at our staging area by 5:30.
Typically we walk back to the parking lot at the end of the parade, or some people stash cars at the end. This year we got a parking pass for those who need to park within the closed streets. So if you or your hound have mobility issues, or you have small kids who are cold and cranky on the walk back, parking within the closed streets may help you. Lauren made some copies of the parking pass. We'll have them at the parking lot, so if you need one, swing by and get it between 5 and 5:15.
Be sure to dress yourself and your hound warmly. The more lights on your hound, the better. Don't forget to bring poop bags.
Parade rules:
1. Do NOT dress as Santa Claus, do dress festively
2. Do NOT through candy or other objects
3. Do NOT hand out any fliers or information
4. NO smoking on the parade route
