When a greyhound is welcomed into our home, they become a member of the family. When they leave this life, we mourn them as one of our own. This page is a tribute to those special members of our family who touched our lives, shared our souls, and commandeered our couches.
If one of these hounds were near and dear to your heart, please consider making a memorial donation in their name. All proceeds go to help future hounds race to their forever home.
To have your loved greyhound posted here, send an e-mail with photo and story to tribute@greyhoundadoption.com.

 Jenny (Jennys Sara)
1997-2007 Loved by Naomi Knecht & Matt Weaver Jenny was such a sweet, delicate girl. She came to her forever home extremely shy, where she had to bribed out of her crate with food. As time went on, she really came out of her shell. She eventually blossomed into an excellent PR dog, standing at the end of her leash in a crowd of people getting petted. |

Madeleine (Jaaz TomandCathi)1997-2008 Loved by Marianne & John McKiernan Madeleine the Greyhound, our lovely velvet dog, went to the Rainbow Bridge 9/15/08. Born in April, 1997, she was foolishly named "Jaaz TomandCathi" (aka "Tom Cat") on her registration papers. She raced once. We don't know what happened, but we believe she may have gotten distracted by something and stopped and turned, causing a 10-Greyhound pileup, or she simply wasn't interested in running after a mechanical bunny. |

Patriot1998-2009 Loved by Dave and Kamille Hockman
I first met Patriot in Petsmart, he was a velcro dog and so loving. I came home covered in hair and Dave asked me if I had brought him home. A couple of weeks later we met with Matt and Angie who were fostering him and we brought him home soon after. |

Picasso (Rancho Beachboy)2002-2009 Loved by Chad, Tara & Annika Lindburg
Picasso was our first adoption. A friend of ours said that he was a good teacher, and he certainly taught us a lot. He was regal and reserved; he saved all his affection for us in the privacy of home. And while he could intimidate those who didn't know him, to us he was our big baby. |

Pogo (Command Move)1999-2009 Loved by Mark Tokheim & Lee Ann Aden In 2003 we were looking for a second greyhound to join our house. Along came Command Move. During his racing career he ran about 100 races, got to the top speed class where he placed second. That was good enough for him, and he retired shortly after that. |

Roxy (TV Candycane Gal)1999-2010 Loved by Tuke and Steven Walsh
Roxy is gone. We thought, if any dog can beat this, it would be Roxy. She contracted Osteosarcoma manifesting itself in a mass on her ribs just under a month ago. At the time she was as spry as ever for any greyhound no less one approaching her 11th birthday. |

Sadie (Iona Go Go Girl)1995-2006 Loved by Denise & Rollie Fortman Sadie came to us after two relinquishments and she had some serious doubts about this adoption thing. She was wary of us at first but when she finally trusted that we wouldn't abandon her she became such a part of our lives that when she left there was a huge hole in our hearts. We still miss this beauty. |

Sadie (Hallo Cheerful)1997-2009 Loved by the Postlewate Family
Sadie was such a gentle and happy spirit who gave so much of herself to others. Sadie was a ray of light that touched so many hearts. Sadie was a wonderful, happy dog, whose race name was appropriately "Hallo Cheerful!" |

 Sandy1997-2009 Loved by Joy Selby
Sweet Sandy, as she would always be known if you ever met her, came to me as a short term foster on November 18, 2007. Circumstances led me to continue fostering her for the immediate future, and within a week I knew we had a bond which would be a lasting feeling between us. |
