When a greyhound is welcomed into our home, they become a member of the family. When they leave this life, we mourn them as one of our own. This page is a tribute to those special members of our family who touched our lives, shared our souls, and commandeered our couches.
If one of these hounds were near and dear to your heart, please consider making a memorial donation in their name. All proceeds go to help future hounds race to their forever home.
To have your loved greyhound posted here, send an e-mail with photo and story to tribute@greyhoundadoption.com.

Edith (Jazz Artist)1995-2009 Loved by Jenny Biekert and Jim Warner
Edith lived to be 13 1/2. A shy, seemingly unassuming girl, Edith followed the rules, minded her manners, and didn't hesitate to teach naughty puppies how to mind theirs. She was enthusiastic about her walks and killing squeakers. She went out of her way to make all things easy for us. |

Elaina1994-2008 Loved by Jim and Evelyn Soule
It is with a great deal of sadness that we must report the passing of Elaina on December 10, 2008. She was about 14 1/2 years old and was suffering from the grave effects of acute renal failure. She went peacefully at the Dumb Friends League of Denver where we made a contribution in her name. |

Frodo2000-2010 Loved by Jody and Russ Laughlin This Wednesday, after ten years, we lost our boy Frodo. We have had Frodo longer than any of our other greyhounds. He was in many ways, our boy's dog, and a friend that we had raised since he was a puppy. He leaves a big hole in our pack and in our family. |

 Georgia (Little Honker)
1995-2008 Loved by the Weber Family
One day in July, a beautiful brindle greyhound showed up at our house. She had no tags, so we contacted the Humane Society. I waited to hear her family had come to get her but they did not, so we adopted her. Her racing name was Little Honker, but her name was Georgia. |

Gidget (Bs Gidget)2002-2009 Loved by the Beiser Family Everyone loved Gidget. She was so sweet and innocent, as if she would never understand her little world. She came to us full of terrible scars, with little fur on her belly or hindquarters, and scared of EVERYTHING. |

Ginger2004-2010 Loved by the Coke Family One of the best things about coming home after a long day at work was being greeted at the door by our beloved Ginger. She was not the kind of girl to just meet us at the door—she taught herself to open the door! She was smart and sassy, just the kind of girl for us. |

 Hal (Pat C Holiday)
1997-2008 Loved by the Salley Family Heaven just got a little better. Our boy Hal went there this afternoon, after a nice breakfast of steak and eggs, and a walk at Chatfield with his family. He was a little slower than usual, and his step was hesitant because of his bone cancer, but he spent an unusual amount of time languishing in the river. |

 Hogan (GS Dewey's Hogan)
2002-2008 Loved by the Zanella Family Hogan made his way into our family seamlessly. We feel lucky that he chose us. He was never at a loss to communicate what he wanted and he always seemed to know what we needed, be it a kiss or a stuffie strategically aimed at the head. Hogan died quite unexpectedly at the age of 6. The members of our family cherish the memories we have and will never forget the joy he brought to our lives. |

James (James Bond)1998-2007 Loved by Dori Webb James was my first greyhound and was a huge joy in my life. He was a people dog that loved absolutely everyone! He would have made a perfect therapy dog except for his habit of marking everything. If marking is a way of claiming ownership, then he owned the entire neighborhood, a few pet stores, and a couple of houses. |

Jazz1994-2009 Loved by Chuck and Mary
In early spring of 1996, my wife Mary and I, were watching the evening news. There was a segment on Greyhounds being rescued from deplorable conditions (abandoned, starving and feeding off one another) at a kennel, north of Denver. It touched our hearts. |
