In addition to our regularly-held Meet & Greets, Colorado Greyhound Adoption attends several of the fairs and festivals across the Front Range.  From time to time, we also have special fundraisers.  Here is a list of upcoming events where CGA will be:

Animal Care Affair & Blessing - Sep 18, 2010
Colorado Greyhound Adoption will be attending the Mile Hi Church Animal Care Affair and Blessing held at the Mile Hi Church in Lakewood.  Dedicated to loving and caring for your pets, this annual event includes animal related exhibits and vendors, demonstrations, musical entertainment, snacks for humans and pets, animal adoption and a special blessing ceremony officiated by Dr. Patty Luckenbach.

When:  Saturday, September 18th
Hours:  9:00am-3:00pm
Where:  Mile Hi Church, Lakewood (near Alameda Blvd & Garrison St)

Volunteers and hounds are needed for this event.  If you have some spare time to help out, please let us know!
 
Summerset Festival - Sept 18 & 19, 2010
CGA will be attending the Summerset Festival in Littleton. Summerset Festival was founded 26 years ago as a way to gather the community together to say good-bye to summer. Clement Park and its 200 acres continue toprovide Summerset with a unique and beautiful event venue. It has grown in size and sophistication, attracting over 40,000 festival-goers each year.

When: Saturday, September 18th from 9:00am-6:00pm and Sunday, September 19th from 9:00am-5:00pm

Colorado Springs Pet Expo - Sep 25, 2010
CGA will be attending the Colorado Springs Pet Expo on Saturday, September 25th.

Where: Phil Long Expo Center, Colorado Springs

CGA Picnic - Sep 26, 2010
CGA will be holding its Annual Picnic on Sep 26, 2010 in Highlands Ranch.

Where: Highland Heritage Park, Highlands Ranch
When: Sunday, September 26th, 2010
Hours: 12:00pm - 4:00pm

The cost is $5/person or $15/family.

Important Volunteer Position Vacant
We have a very important volunteer position open:

The Event Staffing Coordinator is responsible for finding volunteers to staff events.  During the summer, CGA has several events going on and the Event Staffer may also need help to coordinate the set up and take down of CGA events. This position will work closely with the Event Coordinator.

Duties:
  • Obtain information about upcoming events from the Event Coordinator.
  • Coordinate movement of event materials to the event or point person as required.
  • Set up tent, table etc. at events and take down the same when event is over.
  • Maintain inventory of event materials and/or know their location at all times.
Skills Required:
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • E-mail including e-mail attachments
Equipment Required:
  • Vehicle able to transport event tent, event tub, table, chairs and misc equipment.
  • This position requires the volunteer to have their own computer with internet and e-mail access.
  • Space for one or both sets of event materials while they are not in use.
Time Commitment:
  • Time required varies based on the season and number of events. Highest level of activity occurs from May through September. Others who have performed this function indicate an average of approximately 5-10 hours during the week of the event.
