The meeting will be held at the home of Paul and Mayme Gigl in Highlands Ranch, and we will be having a potluck. Plates, napkins and plasticware will be provided, but please bring a dish to share with the other members.
We hope you will be able to join us in celebrating our accomplishments over the past year, vote for the new Board Members, and spend time with your CGA friends! |

Annual CGA Board Elections - 3/14/2010 |
Hello CGAers!! Remember March 14th is the annual CGA Board Elections!! The following candidates will be running for the Board:
Running for Vice President: Tara Lindburg
Running for Treasurer: Mark McKay
Running for Board Member-at-Large (vote for 4 ):
Beth Morgan
Clark Sonderby
Debee Vecchiarelli
Jackie Gaithe
Kay Roberts
Naomi Knecht
You can see we have some amazing people running for the Board! This is such a win-win for CGA and for retired racing greyhounds!!!
We hope you will be able to join us in celebrating our accomplishments over the past year, vote for the new Board Members, and spend time with your CGA friends!
Again, you must be a member to vote. If you have not renewed your membership within the last year, you will be able to pay for your membership at the Election meeting.
Here's what I need from you: A location for the meeting.
Normally, we hold our meetings at the Library, but for the election meeting, we like to have a potluck, be a little louder in our conversations, and have the store there for your shopping therapy. The clubhouse that we usually hold our election meeting in, is booked for the month of March.
Do you have a neighborhood clubhouse that we could use?
Do you have a large home, you wouldn't mind holding all of us (about 40 folks)?
Are you in the Littleton, Englewood, Highlands Ranch, Centennial area? (we need to have it halfway between Ft. Collins and Colorado Springs, since our membership drives from both areas and every area in between).
Please let me know if you have a location available for our meeting!
Thank you all so much -- if you have any questions, please contact me.
Rene
CGA Board Secretary

Sneak Peek #2: Auction Roundup |
Hi, It's Artemis "Bratemis" here, and I'm about to give the pre-auction roundup. It looks like all of the auction items have been loaded into the system and are available for preview! However, I wanted to give everybody some ideas for what to get me for Christmas since I've been an especially good girl this year.
Are your fashion hounds tired of wearing the same ol' collar at the local Meet & Greet? Well, there are several different collars to pick from this time. My personal favorite would have to be the firefly collar, but there are other ones that would look great on the young boy hounds too.
Not everything in the auction is for the hounds... There are plenty of greyhound shirts, socks and jewelry for humans to wear. Perhaps your legs need their own beaded anklet with a greyhound charm?
Did I mention that I was a very good girl this year? In fact, I even donated a toy to the auction this year. I gave blood at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital and got this Zumies stuffed toy. Since I already have a big toy basket full of toys, I thought this could go to some poor hound who needs it more than me.
(Maybe this will guilt my parents into bidding on the screaming monkey instead?)
Fellow Hounds, practice your sad "puppy dog" eyes when your humans are on the computer because the auction starts on Tuesday morning!
Love, Artemis "Bratemis" Weaver CGA Ambassadog Extrordinaire |

Auction Sneak Peek #1: Winter Survival Kit |

When the cold and snowy weather hits, what is the best thing to do? Stay home and cuddle up on the couch with your hounds! Imagine having a nice steaming bowl of soup in your hand-painted soup mug, sporting a blue greyhound on the front! Afterwards, how about grabbing a blanket and curling up with your little crocheted pixie hound and sipping on some hot cocoa from your hand-painted coffee mug, sporting a fawn greyhound on the front.
Visit the Thanksgiving Carpe Canem Benefit Auction starting next Tuesday and bid on these and several other items! |

Get Ready for Carpe Canem 2009 |
It's time to start thinking about having fun with the Carpe Canem Auction again this year. It will be held over Thanksgiving and was very successful last year. No participant was lost during the final bidding war. So start saving your treasures to donate to the auction. Remember this auction will be seen by greyhound lovers all over the US. The items to be donated should be new or like new and should be appealing to animal lovers. Very soon a list will be posted giving addresses and phone numbers of the drop off locations for the auction. When you drop off any item it should include an estimated value and description. Thanks for your generosity in advance, Denise |

A rousing HUZZAH to all the Renaissance Festival volunteers. It's a long season in the summer when each of you could have been doing other fun things. The precious weekend time you all gave is so very much appreciated. This past weekend we collected about $800. That brings the total of donations for the run of the faire to more than $4,000. |
