Senior/Special Dogs

While greyhounds have an average lifespan of 10-14 years, Colorado Greyhound Adoption classifies a "senior" as being 8 years or older.  There have been stories of greyhounds reaching 16, 18 or even 21 years of age with proper care. Don't be fooled by the ages of these hounds!  They still live each day to its fullest, with a special appreciation for life and love.

If you are considering adopting, please consider adopting one of these seniors. The time you spend together might be shorter, but life is not so much about quantity, but quality.
